Building your Base: Techniques for Raising Funds and Friends
Room: HM 148
Come join Cause Effective and ioby (in our back yards) to learn how to grow your resources by focusing your fundraising time and attention in the right areas. We’ll cover the fundraising cycle and specific techniques for donor prospecting and cultivation, then dive a little deeper into crowdfunding as a tactic for individual donor fundraising and community engagement. This workshop will provide a solid introduction for new fundraisers, and give you everything you need to know to set yourself up for success on your first crowdfunding campaign.
Data Matters: Measuring the Good Things Growing in your Garden or Farm
Room: HM 138
Join NYC farmers and gardeners for an interactive workshop on goal-setting and record-keeping with Farming Concrete. Hear from gardeners about their experiences and lessons learned with data collection and sample a workshop you can bring back to facilitate with your own garden. By the end of this workshop, participants will have: planned to set clear objectives for the season with their fellow gardeners; selected methods for measuring their progress toward achieving their goals; and practiced using the Farming Concrete website.
Speakers: Mara Gittleman, Project Director, Farming Concrete; Rosalba Lopez Ramirez, Former Garden Director, Kelly Street Garden; Philip Silva, Founder & Co-Director, TreeKIT; Richelle Trivedi, Master Herbalist
